PRACTICE 3

Off The Tee

  • Hit 5 shots with your driver giving it everything you’ve got

  • Hit a further five shots with your driver giving it everything you’ve got but ensuring you do not miss right of your target

  • Hit 5 more driver shots giving it everything you’ve got but ensuring you do not miss left of your target

  • Record your score of can’t miss left & can’t miss right

Into The Green

  • Take your 5 iron

  • Hit three balls of each the following ball flights: Low Draw, Straight, High Fade

  • Hit three more balls of each of the following ball flights: Low Fade, High Straight, Draw

  • Hit another three balls of each of the following ball flights : Low Straight, Fade, High Draw

  • Record how many unsuccessful attempts and which ones they were

Wedges

  • Take 30 balls to the wedge range

  • Hitting from an uphill lie hit three balls to each green

  • Record how many unsuccessful attempts you made and where they missed relative to the green

Chipping

  • Place 2 markers 30 feet apart

  • Take 10 balls and any club you want to use and play the first shot to finish past the first marker and short of the second

  • The game is to hit each shot beyond the previous shot but not past the end marker

  • Challenge is to fit all teN balls inside the two markers but with each shot going beyond the previous one

  • Play the game with various clubs

Pitching

  • Place 3 Balls in both the fairway and rough at 25yds, 30yds, 35yds, 40yds, 45yds from a hole

  • Take your 3 shortest wedges and play 1 ball with each wedge from each of the distances

  • Challenge is to get as many balls within 8ft of the hole while having none outside 20ft

  • Take note of which distances and wedge you are successful

Bunker

  • Choose a bunker to hit from that has a hole where the green runs away from you

  • Take 10 balls and hit 5 of them to release to the hole and 5 of them to land and check

  • Take note of which shot type you are able to finish closer to the hole.

Long Putting

  • Select an “up & over slope” that will allow you to hit around 30ft putt (you do not a hole)

  • Place five ball markers or tees in a line at 18ft, 21ft, 24ft, 27ft & 30ft

  • Putt three balls to finish between the 18 & 21ft markers

  • Retrieve the and putt three balls to finish between the 27 & 30ft markers

  • Retrieve them and putt three balls to finish between the 21 & 24ft markers

  • Take your starting point back 15ft so that the last marker will be 45ft and repeat the process

Short Putting

  • Take a 3ft rule and place it on a flat putt and with the closest end of the rule 1ft from the hole

  • Putt ball directly along the rule and into the hole

  • Putt for around 10 minutes and see how many balls in a row you can hole

On The Course

  • Play the 10 hole course

  • On every even numbered hole you must use an odd numbered iron for your approach shot

  • On every odd numbered hole you must use an even numbered iron for your approach shot

  • If that odd or even numbered iron is the club you would hit for the distance shot you have then you must go to another odd or even numbered club as the hole determines.
