PRACTICE 1

Off The Tee

  • Pick two targets 40 yards apart forming your fairway

  • Rotate through the following tee shots

  • Stock - aiming down the middle

  • Favor Left - aiming 10 yards right of the left target

  • Favor Right - aiming 10 yards left of the right target

  • Successful shot finishes within 20 yards of your aim

Into The Green

  • Take your three shortest clubs - Hit three shots with your shortest club

  • Take your next longer club and hit three shots the same distance

  • Take your next longer club and again hit three shots the same distance

  • Drop your shortest club and add your next longer club and repeat the process

  • Repeat the process odf dropping your shortest club and adding your next longer club until you hit all your irons.

Wedges

  • Set random number generator 50-100 yards

  • Hit three balls to each distance generated

  • Hit within 7% of the distance 50-yard shot x 3.5 yards = 10.5ft PGA Tour Player

  • Hit within 10% of the distance 50-yard shot x 5 yards = 15ft Scratch handicap

Chipping

  • Place 5 tees or hole cups 6ft apart on the green with the first one being around 25ft where you hit

  • Using three balls chip to finish between the first set of markers. Keep count of any that finish outside your target markers.

  • Repeat for every set of markers

  • Challenge is to score as low a number as you can

  • Play the game with various clubs

Pitching

  • Place 3 Balls in both the fairway and rough at 25yds, 30yds, 35yds, 40yds, 45yds from a hole

  • Play one set of balls from the fairway and one set from the rough

  • Challenge is to get as many balls within 8ft of the hole while having none outside 20ft

  • Play to various flag positions each time you play the game

Bunker

  • 9 Green-side bunker shots from 25 yards and in

  • 3 easy, 3 medium, 3 difficult

  • Challenge is to get at least 3 balls within 3ft of the hole, at least 3 more within 8ft while having none finish outside 20ft

Long Putting

  • Choose the slope type you want to putt on - uphill, downhill, up and over, or sidehill

  • Place 5 markers 3ft apart in a straight line

  • Place a ball between 15 and 25 ft from first marker

  • Challenge is to roll the ball at the correct speed to have it finish between the markers of your choice

Short Putting

  • Find an 8ft straight putt Ping a chalk-line

  • Putt ball directly along the chalk-line

  • Place two tees 2ft ahead either side of chalk-line just wider than a ball and putt between tees

  •  Challenge is to putt ten balls in a row between the tees

On The Course

  • Hit two tee shots

  • Select the position of the worst of your two shots and again play two balls from that position

  • Repeat the process of selecting your worst position of your two shots

  • To finish the hole you have to hole out both shots

PRACTICE 2

Off The Tee

  • Pick a target - aim 10 yards right of it

  • Hit 6 tee shots that cannot finish left of the target or more than 30 yards right of it

  • Aim 10 yards left of the target

  • Hit 6 tee shots that cannot finish right of the target or more than 30 yards left of it

Into The Green

  • Using the TrackMan Performance Center select 4 greens with the following flag positions

  • Left Flag, Back Flag, Right Flag, Front Flag

  • Set the random distance selector from the the distance you hit your 9 iron up to the distance you distance you hit your 5 iron

  • The aim of the game is to hit shots so that you never leave yourself a short-sided shot from off the green for what would be your next shot

  • Front Flag can’t be short, Back Flag can’t be long, Right Flag can’t be right, Left Flag can’t be left

Wedges

  • Using the wedge range and hitting from fairway length grass

  • Hit two balls to each green for a total of twenty shots

  • Record the number of greens you miss

  • Repeat the process hitting from rough length grass

  • Record the number of green you miss

Chipping

  • Select 3 holes and three clubs - your second or third wedge, a short iron and a hybrid or fairway metal

  • Using three balls hit chip shots with each club from the same place.

  • Repeat for ten different places to hit from

  • Take note of which club for which particular shot is more successful

Pitching

  • Set 2 flag positions - one front with a bunker or slope just before it & one back with a bunker or run off after it.

  • Place 3 Balls in both the fairway and rough at 25yds, 30yds, 35yds, 40yds, 45yds from a hole

  • Play one set of balls from the fairway and one set from the rough

  • Challenge is to get as many balls within 8ft of the hole while having none miss the green

Bunker

  • 9 different length Green-side bunker shots from 3 bunkers to three different flags from 3 different lies

  • Short shot form uphill lie, flat lie, downhill lie

  • Medium length shot from uphill lie, flat lie downhill lie

  • Long length shot form uphill lie, flat lie, downhill lie

  • Challenge is to get at least 3 balls within 3ft of the hole, at least 3 more within 8ft while having none finish outside 20ft

Long Putting

  • Choose the slope type you want to putt on - uphill, downhill, up and over, or sidehill

  • Place 2 markers 10ft apart

  • Place a ball between 15 and 25 ft from first marker

  • Putt a ball to finish close to the first marker but past it

  • Each putt must now go past the previous putt but not finish past the longest marker

  • Challenge is to fit as many balls between the markers

Short Putting

  • Place a ball 3ft from the hole and putt it

  • Move 45 degrees clockwise and add one foot to the length of the putt

  • Move 45 degrees clockwise and if you holed the previous putt add another foot to the length

  • If you missed it go back to 3ft in length

  • Challenge is to hole 8 putts in a row to complete the circle

On The Course

  • Play the 10 hole course

  • On each hole you must drop a ball from a distance of your choice from 20 to 65 yards

  • Only one distance to be played on every hole but every distance must be played

  • Of the ten shots played in total, two must be from a bunker, three from the rough and five from the fairway.

  • The fairway shots should include a downhill lie, an uphill lie, ball above the feet, ball below the feet and a flat lie

  • Record your score

PRACTICE 3

Off The Tee

  • Hit 5 shots with your driver giving it everything you’ve got

  • Hit a further five shots with your driver giving it everything you’ve got but ensuring you do not miss right of your target

  • Hit 5 more driver shots giving it everything you’ve got but ensuring you do not miss left of your target

  • Record your score of can’t miss left & can’t miss right

Into The Green

  • Take your 5 iron

  • Hit three balls of each the following ball flights: Low Draw, Straight, High Fade

  • Hit three more balls of each of the following ball flights: Low Fade, High Straight, Draw

  • Hit another three balls of each of the following ball flights : Low Straight, Fade, High Draw

  • Record how many unsuccessful attempts and which ones they were

Wedges

  • Take 30 balls to the wedge range

  • Hitting from an uphill lie hit three balls to each green

  • Record how many unsuccessful attempts you made and where they missed relative tom the green

Chipping

  • Place 2 markers 30 feet apart

  • Take 10 balls and any club you want to use and play the first shot to finish past the first marker and short of the second

  • The game is to hit each shot beyond the previous shot but not past the end marker

  • Challenge is to fit all teN balls inside the two markers but with each shot going beyond the previous one

  • Play the game with various clubs

Pitching

  • Place 3 Balls in both the fairway and rough at 25yds, 30yds, 35yds, 40yds, 45yds from a hole

  • Take your 3 shortest wedges and play 1 ball with each wedge from each of the distances

  • Challenge is to get as many balls within 8ft of the hole while having none outside 20ft

  • Take note of which distances and wedge you are successful

Bunker

  • Choose a bunker to hit from that has a hole where the green runs away from you

  • Take 10 balls and hit 5 of them to release to the hole and 5 of them to land and check

  • Take note of which shot type you are able to finish closer to the hole.

Long Putting

  • Select an “up & over slope” that will allow you to hit around 30ft putt (you do not a hole)

  • Place five ball markers or tees in a line at 18ft, 21ft, 24ft, 27ft & 30ft

  • Putt three balls to finish between the 18 & 21ft markers

  • Retrieve the and putt three balls to finish between the 27 & 30ft markers

  • Retrieve them and putt three balls to finish between the 21 & 24ft markers

  • Take your starting point back 15ft so that the last marker will be 45ft and repeat the process

Short Putting

  • Take a 3ft rule and place it on a flat putt and with the closest end of the rule 1ft from the hole

  • Putt ball directly along the rule and into the hole

  • Putt for around 10 minutes and see how many balls in a row you can hole

On The Course

  • Play the 10 hole course

  • On every even numbered hole you must use an odd numbered iron for your approach shot

  • On every odd numbered hole you must use an even numbered iron for your approach shot

  • If that odd or even numbered iron is the club you would hit for the distance shot you have then you must go to another odd or even numbered club as the hole determines.

PRACTICE 4

Off The Tee

  • Take 18 balls

  • Challenge is to hit 3 straight shots, 3 fades and 3 draws 

  • All balls should finish on the fairway

  • 2nd Challenge is to hit 3 high, 3 mid and 3 low ball flights

  • All balls should be solid

Into The Green

  • Set random number generator between 60 yards & 3 metal carry distance

  • Take 25 balls and hit to whatever carry distance is generated by the random number generator

  • Challenge is to hit solid repetitive shots while landing the ball the correct distance

  • Hit within 7% of the distance 150-yard shot x 10.5 yards = 31.5ft PGA Tour Player

  • Hit within 10% of the distance 150-yard shot x 15 yards = 45ft Scratch Handicap

Wedges

  • Using the wedge range

  • Take your three shortest wedges

  • Hit one ball with each wedge to the shortest green

  • Repeat for every green up to the longest green your shortest wedge can reach

  • If you have a fourth wedge, drop your shortest wedge and replace with it that wedge

  • Play to all remaining greens again hitting one shot with each wedge

Chipping

  • Find an into the grain, uphill lie, up to 5 yards off the green

  • Take your wedge with the least bounce and hit chips to various distances

  • Take your wedge with the most bounce and hit chips to various distances

  • One of them should be easier than the other

Pitching

  • Find a fairly good uphill slope to hit from to a back flag position from around 40-60 yards

  • Take your 5 shortest clubs and play two balls with each club

  • Find a fairly good downhill slope to hit from to a front flag position from around 40-60 yards

  • Take your 5 shortest clubs and play two balls with each club

Bunker

  • Take 15 balls and your five shortest clubs

  • From a steepish uphill lie play to a flag around 20-25 yards away hitting 3 shots with each club

  • Note which clubs are most successful

Long Putting

  • Find three holes set triangularly around 20ft apart

  • Place a marker around 15ft from 1 hole, 20ft from another and 25ft from last hole

  • Starting at 15ft marker play to each hole

  • Repeat for markers from 20ft and 25ft playing 9 holes total

  • Score 1 point for every ball within 3ft of the hole and lose -1 for every ball outside 8ft

  • Record your score

Short Putting

  • Using the marble tray putting aid

  • Find a straight putt 6 feet away

  • Using the putting tray aim it directly at the hole and place the marbles on the tightest position

  • Putt attempting to get the ball through the marbles

  • If you are successful getting through the marbles, but miss, adjust the putting tray accordingly

  • If you are successful 3 times in a row take putt to the hole without using the marble tray

On The Course

  • Play the practice course or short course with 2-4 players

  • On every hole, the person who hits nearest the flag and on the green in regulation gets to throw all the other players balls off the green regardless of whether they hit the green in regulation

  • Balls have to be thrown in a position to leave a direct shot and cannot be in a penalty area If any of the other players hits their next shot within 3 ft of the hole they then get to throw the "nearest the flag" players ball off the green

  • Challenge is to shoot the low score over 9 holes
