Golf Is Hard!

IT’s HARD BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE ARE USING THE WRONG INFORMATION TO TRY TO GET BETTER!

WHAT IF IT’S NOT YOU?

WHAT IF IT’S THE THINGS YOU ARE TRYING TO DO THAT ARE STOPPING YOU FROM GETTING BETTER?

Golf is all about what the ball does!

The ball reacts to how the club applies force to it.

How the club applies force to the ball is a direct result of how you apply force to the club.

You cannot expect to bring about a difference in ball flight without changing the way you apply force to the club to change the way the club applies force to the ball to bring about change in how the ball reacts!

  • Every area of the game requires a specific impact to bring about a desired ball flight.

  • Each golf club by design has both vertical and horizontal elements.

  • The longer the shaft & the less the loft the more the club possesses horizontal elements.

  • The shorter the shaft & the more the loft the more the club possesses vertical elements.

  • A club with more horizontal elements makes hitting shots that require more vertical impact more challenging.

  • A club with more vertical elements makes hitting shots that require a more horizontal impact more challenging.

  • Understanding which clubs require which impacts makes executing those shots easier!

  • Understanding how you are applying force to the ball allows you to easily fix those shots you don’t like!

  • Understanding The Planes of Motion helps you to bring about a desired impact!

Every Area Of Your Game

  • Off the Tee

The longest club with the least loft hitting a ball on a tee peg requires a swing delivering a lot of horizontal forces to become a great driver and generate maximum distance.

  • Into the Green

Approach shots contribute more to your score than any area of your game. Solid contact is the key to great approach shots. Distal misses through poor contact miss your intended far more than directional misses with solid contact.

  • Wedges

Great approach play and great wedge play don’t often go hand in hand unless the player understands what makes them different. The motion you want for approach play tends not to work so well for wedge play due to the different lofts and lengths of these clubs.

  • Pitching

Pitching is about the contact point on the ball more than anything else and the contact point of the ball with a lofted club is mostly about the width and direction of the swing arc. Once you understand this concept pitching will become a lot easier!

  • Chipping

Chipping should be the second easiest area of the game to master after putting. After all it’s the next shortest shots generally. However through a mis-understanding of what needs to happen a large % of golfers struggle in this area regardless of how good a ball striker they may be.

  • Greenside Bunkers

Hit two inches behind the ball we’re told! If that’s what you are trying to do you are going to be a poor bunker player other than if you want to hit a chunk runner. The best players only hit chunk runners in a small number of scenarios.

  • Putting

Putting is about rolling the ball in a given direction at a given speed. Most people fail to roll the ball so fail to get a given speed or direction.

  • On Course

Shooting a good score isn’t defined by your good shots. It’s defined by how good your bad ones are. Your bad ones are better when they finish in places that aren’t penal. Understanding course architecture and what is being asked of you makes shooting lower bad scores easier!

  • Practice

If practice were about hitting balls on a range everybody would be getting better. Knowing which parts of your game have more or less outcome to your score allow to you to focus on those areas while working on mechanics, playing the game and keeping track of progress or regression.
